If you order a beer in the states, you get a 12 ounce can or bottle. It's the standard. Occasionally, you can get a "tall" beer which is 22 ounces. Again, it's the standard so we don't question it. Down here, when you order a beer, you get a 650 milliliter monster. 650ml is 21.9 ounces so the small beer down here is a 22. The "grande cerveja" (yes, I know that says "cerveja"…cerveja is beer in Portuguese, cerveza is beer in Spanish) is 1 liter, or 33 ounces or to even put that into more perspective… a quarter gallon. Now THAT is what I'm talking about!!!
